Auto Profiles Privacy Policy

Auto Profiles Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 5, 2026

Auto Profiles is designed to be private by default. We do not collect, store, sell, rent, or share your personal information. The app runs entirely on your Mac, and the data it reads about your environment never leaves your device unless you explicitly choose to send it to us, as described below.

Information We Collect

We collect no personal data, and the app does not contain analytics, advertising, or tracking of any kind. We have no servers that receive your information automatically.

Information Processed Only on Your Mac

To activate your profiles, Auto Profiles reads signals about your current environment and evaluates them locally against the rules you create. This may include:

  • The current Wi-Fi network name (SSID/BSSID)
  • Your location and geofenced regions you define
  • Connected Bluetooth devices
  • Connected displays, audio devices, USB devices, and mounted volumes
  • Power source, lid state, network connections, and IP addresses
  • The current date and time

All of this is processed on your Mac only. It is used solely to decide which profile should be active and to run the actions you configured. It is not transmitted to us or to any third party.

Location and Bluetooth

Auto Profiles requests Location and Bluetooth access only to detect your context on this Mac (for example, to read your Wi-Fi network name or to know when you arrive at a place you set). Your location and Bluetooth data are never stored off your device and never transmitted to us.

Your Profiles and Settings

The profiles, rules, and preferences you create are stored locally on your Mac inside the app's container. They are never uploaded.

Diagnostic Logs and Feedback (Optional, User Initiated)

If you choose to contact us using the in-app feedback option, the app prepares an email using your own mail application. Before anything is composed, a clear disclosure tells you what the email will contain, including a diagnostic log and a summary that may include identifiers such as Wi-Fi network names (SSID/BSSID), Bluetooth device names and addresses, audio and display device names, and file paths.

You are always in control:

  • You can choose Continue to include the diagnostic log.
  • You can choose Send without log to omit all diagnostic data.
  • You can Cancel and send nothing.

Nothing is sent until you press Send in your mail app, and you can review and edit the email first. Any email you send reaches our support address (appsdev@atomicmail.io) and is used only to respond to and resolve your request.

Public IP Address Lookup (Only If You Use It)

Auto Profiles can match rules against your public IP address. If you use this feature, the app contacts a third-party service (ipify, https://www.ipify.org) to determine the public IP your network presents to the internet. This happens in two cases: automatically while a public IP rule is active, and when you tap the button in the rule editor to fetch your current public IP. As with any internet request, that service receives your device's IP address; no other personal information is sent. If you never use public IP rules, no such request is ever made.

Data Sharing

We do not share your information with third parties. The only data that ever leaves your Mac is what you deliberately send us by email, and the network request to the public IP service described above when you enable that feature.

Data Retention and Deletion

Because we do not collect your data, there is nothing on our side to retain or delete. All app data lives on your Mac and is removed when you delete the app and its data. If you have emailed us, you may ask us to delete that correspondence by contacting the address below.

Children's Privacy

Auto Profiles is a general-purpose utility and is not directed at children. It does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date at the top of this page.
